💡 Business Tip - Sell the Outcome (Issue #31)
People want the results, not the work
Have you heard the phrase, “Sell the sizzle, not the steak?”
When you sell a product or service, look past the features and focus on the outcomes.
What do your customers really want?
Carpenters, for example, don’t want to buy a tool just because they want the tool itself.
They want the outcome of using that tool. They want the amazing thing they’re trying to create, and the tool simply makes that creation process easier.
What they might really want is the money they’ll make from selling their creation to a happy customer.
So, if you were trying to sell your wonderful new tool to that carpenter, you would focus on explaining how quickly they can make more money because your tool will make it faster and easier to create the beautiful things they sell.
When you’re creating your marketing and sales pages, focus on the ultimate outcomes people desire:
Sell happiness.
Sell a vision of their future.
Sell who they wish they could be.
Speak to their emotions. Solve their problems. Show them how what you’re selling will make their dreams come true.
