💡 Revenue That Isn't Worth Pursuing (Issue #86)
Don't sacrifice your principles
I despise a certain politician, and I’m vocal about this online. I've tried to not talk about politics too often, but I’m human. Occasionally, I snap and it comes out.
So, guess what?
I’ve lost a few friends and family.
I’ve lost some followers and subscribers.
I've certainly lost some potential clients.
I’m okay with that. Some money isn’t worth it. If I speak my mind and turn off a few prospective customers, so be it. I’m guessing we wouldn’t be a good fit for each other anyway.
The same is true for you and your business. Don’t be afraid to be yourself and stand up for what you believe in.
You should never discriminate against people, of course. But you’ll discover that customers will either be drawn to you or shy away from you based on what they see when you post.
After all, your vibe attracts your tribe.
I do have friends and clients who believe differently than me. But we are open and honest about it. We treat each other with respect.
However, we are all allowed to vote with our dollars. I do that and I respect your right to do that. We should also respect the rights of others to do the same.
Don’t feel like you must hide who you are to grab as many dollars as possible. It’s not worth sacrificing your principles. And it’s too hard to face yourself in the mirror every day if you do.
