💡 Alienate Some - Attract Others (Issue 120)

I’m stirring the pot on LinkedIn

Today, I posted the following on LinkedIn.

Now, I’m sure that irritated some people who are big fans of the man. A few of you might even unsubscribe today.

But, you know what? That’s okay with me.

I don’t want people like that following me, reading my articles, engaging with me, or hiring me. I really do not enjoy working with people who support someone who embodies fascism, racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, etc.

And I refuse to listen to gaslighting BS, blaming neurodiversity (shame on you), or calls to “separate the art from the artist.” Enough is enough.

Sure, a single data point does not show a trend (e.g., his “gesture”). But, with enough data points from everything he says, does, and supports over the past years, the trend line has emerged — aiming up and high — just like his salute.

Stop pretending he isn’t what he is. Stop pretending you don’t support him and his beliefs if you make excuses for his behavior. Enough is enough.

An old business belief is that “all money is good money.” I’m watching people abandon their beliefs, values, and moral compass simply to grab more cash. It makes me sick to my stomach. I know I can’t live like that, and perhaps you can’t either.

I think it’s okay to plant your flag in the ground and state what you believe. Be okay with losing some business, of course. But, I think you’ll find that you gain new business.

For example, a few people said they started following me today because of my post. So, I lost some Elon fanboys, but I gained people with a stronger moral compass.

I’m okay with that.
